We’re familiar with Missouri’s State motto. It is the “Show me” State. The implication is “I won’t believe it until I see it.” This is a kind of skepticism that questions whether or not a certain fact can be held as true without personal observation.
In similar fashion the unsaved often doubt whether salvation by faith in Jesus Christ is true. The lost mind cannot comprehend that faith alone qualifies a person as righteous. Knowing the life they now live, faith without acting responsibly is unbelievable. Yet salvation is a miraculous event unexplainable in natural terms. Sadly, miracles are not part of western thought for understanding
truth. But miracles occur every day. On a daily basis lives are being transformed through faith alone in Jesus Christ.
The power of a transformed life is compelling proof of God’s miraculous work. The whole manner of life is in a process of change that for an unbeliever who has familiarity with a person before and after salvation, he is astonished. Each day we encounter our part of the world, I pray, hoping to be a
witness. And as part of that witness we function holy and righteous and blameless … [in] our conduct.
Lord, help us walk consciously aware of our conduct towards others and that we may be seen
as uniquely different. Amen
