Jesus has been counted Worthy
For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (Hebrew 3:3)
How is worth accounted? Certainly many factors come into play; but whatever has worth is worth collecting or desiring. For example antiques are collected because of their age, beauty, rarity, personal emotional connection and/or unique features. Precious metals and gems are desired because they have utility and demand far exceed supplies.
What makes a person worthy above all else? Again, the factors are many and some similar to those of material objects – age, unique position, and/or things accomplished. The writer of Hebrews declares Jesus Christ has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses. Moses was a servant of God and ranked as a high official in the institution Israel as a nation. But Jesus is Son of God, a far greater official for the Father over the church which is us. Who Christ is, the position in which he resides, and the work accomplished makes him more honorable.
If Christ is worthy to you, then he is precious, one to embrace. You express devotion without excuse. Antiques are cherish and keep safe so thieves do not break-in and rob. Don’t let anything in this life rob you of the most Cherishable in the world, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
Worthy of worship,
worthy of praise,
Worthy of love and devotion.
